SUMMER 2015: The Fun Begins Here

The thing about summer vacation is that none of us are meant to stay at home and be bothered by the scorching heat.  There will always be something to do, and of course, something worth trying.

So I took the time to search some summer activities that are categorized based on the interests of different people.

The list goes as follows:

FOR THE ADVENTURER:

  • Mystery Manila

Mystery Manila offers a bunch of live escape rooms that come along with a certain mystery. Those who are brave enough to solve these mysteries are only given one hour to accomplish them. Mystery Manila branches are located in Libis, Quezon City, Jupiter, Makati City, and Boracay, Aklan Island.  My friends and I actually tried out one of their escape rooms in the Libis branch and I am certain that it was an experience that made a mark in the entirety of our high school lives.

Rates:  400-500 per pax for the branches located in Manila and 500-650 per pax for the branches located in Boracay.

  • Tarlac Recreational Park

Before, this was just a mere playing field for sports events, but as of last year, it has upgraded its facilities to something more modern and exciting.  With a price range of 100.00 php (adults) and 50.00 php (children) you can already go for a dip in their kiddie pools and Olympic-sized swimming pool, kayaks are also available for only 50 pesos (30 minutes).

For those who want to unwind even just for a little bit,  TRP also serves as a perfect camp site due to its serene mountainous feel. A fee of 100.00 php is needed for you to set up  your site.  You can also go fishing for only 100.00 per kilo.

Last but definitely not the least, TRP also  brings you the adventure of a lifetime since  that  All- Terrain Vehicles (ATV)  and Dune Buggies are now available for the tracks with their prices  ranging from  200.00 up to 300.00.  A 100- meter zip line is also available for 100.00 php as well an area for playing airsoft guns  for only  250.00  php  plus 150.00 php  for the uniform.

  • White Water Kayaking in San Jose, Tarlac

The common places to go for kayaking are usually Cagayan De Oro and Davao.  Nowadays, with just four hours away from Manila, you can find yourself kayaking on the rapid  of Bulsa River located in San Jose, Tarlac.  The entire kayaking journey stretches to a distance of 12.5 kilometers which will take 3-4 hours for the riders to accomplish. The kayaking fee costs P2500 inclusive of the briefing, snacks, and rentals.

  • Dahilayan Adventure Park in Cagayan de Oro

You should never, ever trade adventure for fear.  The Dahilayan Adventure Park is known for its famed zip line which was noted as the longest dual zip line in Asia. This is definitely a place to be for those who are willing to fly 4700  feet above  sea level with a speed of 90 kph.  The price for all rides is 600.00 and the shuttle costs 350.00.

  • The Food Club (Pasay City)

Their price range  goes from approximately P2500 for two people.

I recommend their  Japanese selections in their sushi bar and their bread pudding for dessert.

  • Chef Laudico Guevarra’s

Nothing says food like traditional recipes.  When I first ate here a few months ago, I believe that my taste buds were really in for a treat. I have always favoured home cooked meals, and this one, has definitely made me beyond satisfied. I recommend their chocolate tablea and their steak.

  • Café 1925

It’s funny how the smallest places contain the best viands.  If you must know, I can easily say that the best brownies I’ve ever tasted can be found at Café 1925.

Café 1925 is an old style family restaurant  that is located at 14 J, Ledesma Street, Silay City.  I highly recommend their Burger Steak for the main course and their Muscovado Brownies and Sunny Wafer for dessert.

  • Nay’s House

Before, I thought that this was just an ordinary historical house in the Province of Tarlac.  Nay’s house is known for its home-cooked meals.  A lot of food bloggers day that their Bistek Tagalog, Fish Steak, and Paella are to die for. So if you’re a fan of classic food, I suggest that you shouldn’t miss out on this one.

Address:  Romulo Boulevard,  Ramos Street, Tarlac City, Tarlac.

Contact no: (045) 982-5286

  • Forest House

Who says you can’t make salad with strawberry syrup?   Disgusting? No. Inviting? Yes.

Forest house  with its homey feel gives its customers the gist of baguio – cool, calm, and serene.   I highly recommend their Three-Dip Forest House Special Salad plus their Wild Mushroom Cream Soup served in a huge bread bowl.

Address: 16 Loakan Road, Baguio  City, Benguet.

  • Korea Town. ( Angeles City)

This place is my personal favorite. My family and I often enjoy the food here because of the promos, unlimited servings, and of course, the taste. Korea town offers a variety of restaurants to choose from. In my case, I suggest that you try out GU-YI-GA first.
