It’s the time to listen to the voice of Filipino student leaders.
The Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Manila through its College Work Department will be holding the 40th YMCA National Congress of College Students and 20th YMCA National Campus Club Advisers Seminar-Workshop on November 28 – December 2, 2015 at Senior Mess, Teachers Camp, Baguio City with the theme: “SYNERGY @ 40.”
The theme stands for “Spirit of the Y’er: Networking through Engagement to become Responsible and Good Youth”, aims to create a higher level of awareness, understanding and appreciation among the youth on the current political, economic and societal factors that contribute to the prevailing societal problems affecting them; provide a venue for healthy sharing of ideas, aspirations, ideals and dreams toward identifying social constraints and support mechanisms instrumental to the realization of their dreams and to prepare collectively their personal and group roadmap on the youth journey towards a better future.
This year’s speakers include Dr. Jose Rodrigo F. Torres, President of Rizal Technological University, Bro. Clifford Sorita, Project Director of Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) together with Mr. Romulo Guillermo, Regional Director for Visayas of PPCRV and Mr. Leon Flores III, former Chairperson of the National Youth Commission.
The highlight of the Congress is the General Plenary Session wherein all commissions will be submitting and presenting their draft resolutions based on the different societal issues for the deliberation of the body. All resolutions that would pass the Congress are submitted and referred to the concern government and socio-civic agencies for perusal.
Other components of the Congress include different contests, acquaintance and cultural night, group workshop and devotions.
