NATIONAL YOUTH COMMISSION – Families and Guest speakers gathered together last May 15, 2016 at the SM North EDSA Skydome for the celebration of the International Day of Families 2016 with the theme: “Families, healthy lives and sustainable future”.

The International Day of Families is observed on The 15th of May every year. In line with this, National Youth Commission’s Commissioner Earl Saavedra stated in his interview that this event helps families to resolve and prevent conflicting issues as well as taking the right care for our family members. “We’re changing the theme yearly so every year is worth waiting for” he stated.

Also, he highlighted that planning for this event is not easy. It takes months of preparation for them to make this gathering unique and successful every year. He also hopes that next Year’s International day of families will be more exciting than this.

“We aim to get high number of participants compared to this year so that people would value their family as much as they value their career and themselves.” he added. Aside from Commissioner Saavedra, TV5 News Reporter Alex Tinsay gave life lessons about fathers as well as the way a father should handle his family.

On the other hand, Actor and Host Robi Domingo narrated highlights of his life concerning the way he acts towards his family and how his parents mold his personality. “Whenever I say the word ‘Kapamilya’, it means a lot. It means something bigger than my life” he stated.
