MMI partners with NYC for the Global Light of Peace 2017

IMG_0806National Youth Commission (NYC) and Middle Way Meditation Institute (MMI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the Global Light of Peace 2017, last June 27 at NYC Central Office in Quezon City.

Usec. Aiza Seguerra represented the NYC while Mr. Makorn Chaovanich represented Ven. Burin Thitakusalo of MMI. They agreed that NYC will co-organize and promote the event and to coordinate with the Filipino Youth to participate in the inner peace online meditation.IMG_0785MMI is a non-profit educational organization which has a goal of providing an inner peace education to progress humankind. They successfully launched Light of Peace here in the Philippines last 2013 and got a Guinness World Record of the most number of floating lanterns in the world. They also set a record in 2014 for the largest flaming image which was also held in the Philippines.

The Global Light of Peace known as an online inner peace meditation activity will be conducted through Facebook live.  According to Commissioner Rhea Penaflor of National Youth Commission, the online meditation will be done simultaneously in Ilo-Ilo, Philippines; Sydney, Australia; Barcelona, Spain; New York, USA and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Mr. Chaovanich said to Usec. Seguerra that they are aiming just 1 million participants from the Philippines.

The said event will be held on September 5, 2017 at Ilo-Ilo Convention Center.
